Maplewood-Richmond Heights

Maplewood-Richmond Heights’ holds nearly 100 years of history.

MRH opened as Maplewood High School, designed by famed architect William B. Ittner and opened in 1929. The gym was renovated as part of a high school renovation that started in 2005.

The renovation was designed by TR,i Architects.

Today, windows on the baseline opposite of the entrance are bricked in with large “MRH” letters painted on the brick. Remaining windows behind the bench are visible in a 1930s W.C. Persons photo of the school from the Missouri Historical Society.

In 1951, Maplewood added Richmond Heights to the school’s name.
