Fontbonne University – Mabee Gymnasium

Fontbonne University’s Mabee Gymnasium is located Dunham Student Activity Center, home to Fontbonne University’s athletics.

The building has three stories, with the gymnasium on the first floor, a dining center and workout facilities on the second, and a track and more rooms on the third.

The Griffins have played in Mabee Gymnasium since March 1993. The Durham Student Activity Center is named for former university President Dr. Meneve Dunham.

Mabee Gymnasium seats 1,800.

Mabee Gymnasium is named for the J. E. and L. E. Mabee Foundation of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The court is dedicated to Dr. Lee McKinney Court, with a plaque hung commemorating 600 victories.

Beyond Griffin athletics, the gym hosted the 1994 U.S. badminton team as part of the U.S. Olympic Festival ’94 and commencement ceremonies for the university.

Fontbonne in 2024 announced its closure after the summer 2025 session. Basketball teams continue to compete, with the final Battle of Big Bend against Webster University being played Saturday. Women tip off at 1 p.m. with men following at 3 p.m.
