McDonnell Gymnasium is the primary gym on MICDS’ upper school campus.
The gym hosts the annual host to the Don Maurer Holiday Invitational girls and boys basketball tournament in December.
MICDS was formed in 1992 with the combination of St. Louis Country Day School and Mary Institute.
The lobby has a water fountain dedicated to 1940 Country Day graduate Donald Alfred Oonk, a U.S. Army Air Force lieutenant who died while flying on a B-17G Flying Fortress over German-occupied Poland on Dec. 2, 1944, at the age of 22. He was the starting center on the undefeated 1940 basketball team.
