Wright City

Wright City opened its new high school in January 2025, leaving behind the 1967 campus — almost.

While classes have transitioned to the new campus, the performance gymnasium remains at the old campus off Westwoods Road for the foreseeable future, said athletic director David Evans.

The gymnasium was built in 1972 as part of a non-profit corporation. The school district was out of bonding capacity so patrons helped fund the gym on property leased from the district. When the building was complete, the patrons leased the school back to the district, which paid off the lease in 4 years.

The gym features two levels of bleachers on either side and is painted with blue and yellow Wildcats colors.
