Missouri State – Great Southern Bank Arena

Great Southern Bank Arena is the home to Missouri State’s men’s and women’s basketball programs.

Opening as JQH Arena in 2008, alumni John Q. Hammons donated a significant portion of the $67 million cost for the building. Following Hammons’ death, the arena sold naming rights to Great Southern Bank, headquartered in Springfield.

The arena holds 11,000 for basketball. A Feb. 26, 2011, Missouri Valley Conference game against Wichita State set the arena’s attendance record at 11,077. The Bears won, 69-64, to capture the regular season championship.

GSB has hosted Professional Bull Riders, state basketball championships and concerts. Concerts include Elton John, The Eagles, Carrie Underwood, and others.
